Global engagement is more than learning about different parts of the world; it is meaningful engagement with the world as a whole. This belief infuses everything we do and teach at Seattle University. By fostering ethical innovation, empathy, shared discovery, and intercultural encounters, we prepare students to meet global challenges with both humility and confidence.

From Capitol Hill to the Himalayas, Santiago to Nunavut, our research, teaching, and service transcend national, cultural, and generational boundaries toward the goal of preparing students to thrive in a rapidly changing world.

Global Connections in the Classroom & Beyond 

Our faculty and staff are dedicated to teaching, research, and service that create the conditions for human flourishing here in Seattle and across the globe. We aim to educate students to be global citizens, environmental stewards, and community leaders, no matter where they are from or where they end up.

With distinguished faculty from around the world, our students can explore more than 130 fields of study. Each year, hundreds of Seattle University students participate in international education programs around the world. Some travel as part of their coursework, others as part of extracurricular activities from community engaged learning to athletics. Still others are involved in global research with faculty from across the globe.

We are an international community in a truly global city, with incredible opportunities for students to engage entrepreneurs, business leaders, Indigenous Tribes, government representatives, and more. Our alumni are a vibrant global community in their own right, and incredible eager to support students in their journeys.
